What is a Glass Carboy?

A glass carboy is a common fermentation vessel used in making homemade beer. It contains the water and other ingredients that need to ferment in an enclosed container. In brewing, a carboy is also know as a demijohn. Glass carboys allow easy viewing of the fermentation process, are easy to clean and are non porous.

Glass carboys range in size from 3 to 6 gallons and are preferred over plastic ones.
